The collection comprises 4 volumes and 4 folders. Series 1-3 comprise of the 4 volumes, specifically a stock book containing a full valuation of ironmongery, drapery, foundry, nail shops and farming stock [1828]; 2 ‘Day Books’ listing sales for the ironmongery and drapery [1790-1791 and 1791-1792]; and a ‘Journal’ also listing sales for both the ironmongery and drapery (1813]. Series 4 comprises 1 sheet titled ‘Kington Iron Works: Rules’ and signed James Meredith & Co [nd.]. Series 5 comprises 4 pieces of trade literature advertising the foundry’s iron work and agricultural machinery [c.1868-c.189-]. Series 6 comprises 6 photographs, 4 of the premises and staff of the foundry [1875-1898], 1 of Kington gas works and tramway [nd.], and 1 of an excavated tram [1965]. Series 7 comprises 8 ink line drawings of designs for doors, chests, gates and railings at Kington, Hereford, Ludlow, Bouthbrook and Leominster [nd.]. There is additionally 1 photocopied sheet showing a section of a map of Kington on which the iron foundry can be seen [nd.].
