The Shiloh Story is a company history produced for the 100th anniversary of the business (and its predecessors). The booklet summarises the company’s history from its foundation up until 1974. It is mostly structured chronologically, with additional sections looking at Chairmen and giving financial information for 1974 itself. The history is illustrated with photographs of the company’s mills, employees at work and portrait photographs of senior management. Amongst the mill photos there are a few showing damage caused by an accident and a major storm early on in the 20th century, as well as the destruction of ‘Shiloh Tower’ in 1968. There is section on fighting economic decline in the textile industry in the 1960s.
The Shiloh News issue contains financial information (e.g. share prices), information on parts of the business undergoing mergers, a piece on a new product range, news of senior management employees, an update on new systems of management of the company, a new quality system and stock control system as well as a section relating to employees retiring.
