Index book recording orders placed by textile manufacturers for stationary steam engines. The volume is arranged in alphabetical order and references a series of order books.

There is some uncertainty about the creator of the volume, however, evidence from the entries in the index and a later pencil note on the first page suggest the volume was created by John Petrie & Co Ltd.
