Papers concerning the development of the first laptop in the UK, the Thorn-EMI Liberator.

The papers consist of three ring binders and loose leaf papers. These include reports, marketing material, previews, technical service manual, non-UK keyboard schematics, specification documents, one photograph album containing black-and-white and colour prints of the Liberator launch event to the civil service, the prototype, individuals involved in the project, three foolscap document wallets of papers dealing with the launch and reviews, sales material and evaluations of related technologies.
