Dear Sir,

By a misfortune of
mine the letter here –
joined which I wrote to
you immediately after my
return from a long journey
was égarée [underlined], among my
papers, and I was not
a little [illegible] when I
found it a few days ago.

many apologies of mine.

I send it to you a
Speech of mine upon the
French laws relating to property
and industry. [illegible] are the
best judge of such matters.

I send to you also
a memoir of mine
upon the Lyonnese[?] in-
dustry.
