Revd. & dear Sir

I owe you an apology
for not answering your letter of March

Doctor’s hands. He however orders me
off to Southport, for change of air & [illegible]

recouperation for at least a fortnight.

I had made considerable progress
in the preparation of about ten sets of
British mosses before my attack of
illness, and if [illegible] I hope to send
you one of these completed before long.

I have at least 400 species in good

Excuse [illegible] & believe me
Most [illegible] respectfully
Yours
