My Dear Sir

I only returned to town
yesterday and met Mr De la Beche at the
Club. He is waiting for the final determin-
-ation of the [illegible] of Ordnance[?]. Time is
precious & it is only possible to do geological
work on the Cornish coast during the Summer
months. If you [illegible]
the final determination of the Board
[illegible] would very greatly oblige all good
Members of the Geological Society. The
Admiralty have done[?] a great injury to
Cambridge & I fear also to the [illegible]
Science by [illegible] our profession. But it is
