Finch writes as 'a pupil, assistant and friend' of the late Dr Augustus Waller. He suggests a physiological mechanism for erect vision involving referral of the right (outer) half of the retinal image of the right eye to the 'Left sensorium' and vice versa. Finch suggests conducting a post-mortem on patients with partially obscured vision as a test of the hypothesis.
