Mr Wilsdon,

His Imperial Majesty, The Sultan,
having been pleased to place at the
disposal of Her Majesty’s Government
a sum of money for the benefit of the
Ladies and Nurses who served in the
British Hospitals on the Bosphorous
and in the Crimea; I am directed to
inform you that the share of each
paid Nurse entitled to participation in
this gift is seven pounds four shillings
and threepence; and the General
agent, Sir John Kirkland, has been
directed to issue that sum to you
accordingly.

I am to add that the
Secretary of State for War has much
pleasure in conveying to you the
approbation of Her Majesty’s Government
of the services you rendered to the
Soldiers of the British Army in our
Hospitals in the East.
