"To be sold by Auction, on the Premises, [of Maudslay's] on Monday the 9th of June 1902 and following days" Contents of Maudslay's Boiler & Engineering Works, East Greenwich, to be sold by Farebrother, Ellis, Egerton, Breach & Co. upon the winding-up of Maudslay, Sons and Field. 1230 lots are listed, including tools etc 'by Whitworth and other well-known makers, including the original screw-cutting & slide-rest lathe, and set of stocks, taps and dies, manufactured by Henry Maudsly early in the 19th century'. With two ts. letters, June 2 and 4 to W J Last, Machinery and Invention Division, South Kensington Museum/Maudslay, Sons & Field Ltd, enclosing the catalogue and pointing out particular lots.
