Thesis entitled 'Future developments in aircraft design'

Whittle's original thesis on Jet Propulsion by Rocket, and the Gas Turbine as a Power Plant for Aircraft, written whilst a Flight Cadet at Cranwell. The thesis is written in a Royal Air Force notebook, which was later bound and bears the title 'The original "thesis" on the gas-turbine engine by Air Commodore Sir Frank Whittle'.
