Covers repairs to the Direct United States cable (Ballinskellig-Halifax) 1888; laying the Porthcurno-Malta-Zante cable (via Lisbon & Gibraltar) 1887, the Mossamedes-Cape Town cable 1889, the Argentine cable to Europe (Argentine-Ascension-Dakar-Cadiz-Marseilles) (mechanical details only) n.d., the Australia-New Zealand duplicate cable 1890, and the Suez-Perim-Aden cable 1890. Details include some printed programmes re laying, journals of voyages of cable ships and abstracts from Engineer's log, copy correspondence and telegrams and reports to Admiral Richards.
