Covers repairs to the Brazilian cable (St. Vincent-Pernambuco section) 1883; laying the duplicate Madeira-St. Vincent cable 1884, the direct Spanish cable (Lizard-Bilbao) 1884, the St. Vincent-Pernambuco cable 1884 (and repairs to No.1 Madeira-St. Vincent section), the Zanzibar-Mozambique duplicate cable 1885, and the African direct cable (Bathurst-Bonny) 1886 (for which a printed programme re laying is included). Details include journals of voyages of cable ships and abstracts of Engineer's log, copy telegrams, correspondence and reports to Admiral Richards.
