Despite Darwin's description pencilled on the back of /1, the projection is not onto a tetrahedron. /2 bears title 'Map of the World projected gnomonically on the faces of a regular eikosihedron'.
Originally items 3218 and 3219 in the catalogue of the Special Loan Collection of Scientific Apparatus at the S. Kensington Museum, 1876.
