This series contains materials relating to a patent law suit which took places between 1913 and 1915 and which was raised by William Friese-Greene, producer of a rival colour system to Kinemacolour called Biocolour. Friese-Green challenged the validity of the Kinemacolor patent. The initial petition in this case was dismissed, but reversed on appeal in March 1914, a decision upheld when taken to the House of Lords in March 1915. The documents in this series include petitions, patents, correspondence and appeal documents.
