Report entitled “Awareness of Biotechnology in Schools” commissioned by the Department of Trade and Industry
- Made:
- 1984
The report was commissioned following a Royal Society publication entitled “Biotechnology in Education”, which recommended that governmental departments should “formulate and promulgate an active national policy on education for biotechnology”. The report investigated the feasibility of developing such a policy, and produced several guidelines as to how this should be approached. The main recommendation was that “by 1992, all young people when they reach the age of 16 will have been given the opportunity of becoming aware of the world-wide biological technology system”.
