This small collection of Cinerama materials relates to the inventor of Cinerama, Fred Waller, the showings of Cinerama films and the development and installation of Cinerama equipment in various sites across the mid and late 20th century.
The collection includes promotional materials, press cuttings, brochures and souvenirs, correspondence and ephemera relating to Cinerama films, technology, screenings and venues. There is also a fairly substantial amount of photographic materials including images of screenings, installations, equipment and theatres.
There is also a box of materials relating to the installation of Cinerama technology at the National Media Museum (then National Museum of Photography, Film and Television) in Bradford in 1993. The information includes research (largely photocopied materials), correspondence and promotional materials relating to the launch of Cinerama screenings at the museum.
