My dear Sir,
The tides have been so rapid that it has been impossible to hold the Pon toon, under the tube; and string tackle breaks like pack_thread and away they go careering in every direction like wild beasts _ I am heartily

sick at such lubberly looking craft pla’ng such lively pranks, and unless I had seen it, I could not have believed it_
We have just brought two of these back from the bar and hope to get them once more in position for to morrow’s tide as we must not lose that, otherwise the neaps will bother us _
The difficulty we are now contending with is much greater than I anticipated, but I will never give up. I have sent King my report by this post _ I shall go to Bangor before I leave as I shall not be able to leave London so soon as the
