The photographs relate to the director of the London School of Economics who came into his position at the beginning of the period and got mired in controversy when he ordered the school to close to prevent a large scale student occupation in protest against the Vietnam war. The photographs come from various press agencies. The file contains two notes redirecting to Harold MacMillan on the subject of a tour of Africa (1960); Queen Elizabeth, Queen Mother on the subject of a visit to Rhodesia, 1957. The subject was the principal of the University College of Rhodesia.
