Documents relating to Norman Wilkinson's entry into the National Showmanship Contest

This series contains materials relating to Norman's Wilkinson entries in the National Showmanship Contest. A Nationwide contest was launched in 1951, with the aim of rewarding managers who were responsible for attracting increased business for their halls. Over £6,000 in prize money was ‘up for grabs’, divided amongst the various regions of the Cinematograph Exhibitors Association. Mr Wilkinson, then at the Victoria Cinema, Burley-In-Wharfedale, submitted an entry, and these folders contain details of his many campaigns aimed at attracting better business. The certificates are located in NWI/7.
