Drawings represent engines building of the time including drawings relating to ‘Bloomers’, include drawings from other works that have been transferred to Wolverton. The series includes drawings from private companies such as Stephenson and Hawthorne. Drawings mainly represent component parts of engines and other equipment. Drawings also reflect activities being carried out at the Works; they include non locomotive drawings including plans for stationary engines, plans of equipment for use in workshops and elsewhere in the company.

Because drawings do not usually have original drawing numbers they have been given artificial numbers. The series appears to be an unordered selection of drawings which appear to have little logical relation to one another, therefore reconstruction of original order has not been attempted.
