A silent meeting in the afternoon.
Attended the Bethal Chapel in the evening a student from Rotherham college preached from the Words “And as he reasoned of righteousness, temperance and judgement to come, Felix trembled, and answered, Go thy way for this time; when I have a convenient season I will send for thee” Acts, chap. 24 verse 25.

2nd day 11/12mo. Rose at Seven – went to the works till 8 – after breakfast various matters of business attended to – went by the

12 Oclock train to Bishop Auckland to look at some boards belonging to the A & Weardale R Co. returned at 2.

3rd day 12/12mo. Received several letters to day on business.

4th day 13/12mo. Wholly engaged with railway and other business – received from [struck through] an order from Shildon Works Co. for 30 spring br [struck through] mounted waggons – price 17£ - payment 4 Mos. accepd.

5th day 14/12mo. The finance Committee
