First day 25/2 mo. Attended meeting – Mary M. Smith rose near the conclusion of the meeting and said – Dear friends I have thought of these words have [struck through] again and again – Thou hast followed me to my old age & c.
H. Backhouse appeared in Supplication.
Silent meeting in the afternoon.
Spent the evening in reading.

2nd, 3. 4 & 5th days Engaged with business. Attended the Coy. Meeting of the Mechanics

Library - myself in the chair – Several bills were examined & passed and a cheque given to the Secretary to discharge them.
A special meeting was agreed to be called on [struck through] for the 6th of next month – to propose [struck through] make the usual preparations for the Annual Meeting.

6th day 3 mo 1. Attended the Directors meeting – Thos. Meynell Jr. [struck through] in the chair – 7 members being present. An explanation was received from the Engineer on the subject of his [struck through] subletting the repairs of the railway.
