Associated Electrical Industries Ltd Report: "Automatic read-out for an optical alignment device"
Report number A.1273, filing No 8326/0. In the use of optical alignment devices, such as the double-ended alignment device, it would often be useful to have a read-out device giving a current or voltage proportional to the misalignment of the units. Such currents or voltages could be used to give permanent records of errors of alignment in, for example, lathe beds, jig boring machines and the like. The current output could also be used to actuate correcting servomechanisms during machining operations. This report describes such a read-out device
