Two models of front side of child's skull, illustrating lack of growth of anterior mandible overgrowth of maxilla, and correcting bone grafts, on stands, prepared by D. Greer-Walker, 1954

The two models in the front row of this image represent ‘before and after’ images of the same child patient. The first model illustrates the lack of growth in the lower jaw, and the overgrowth of the upper jaw. The model has a sprung jaw to demonstrate bite, the angle where the lower and upper teeth meet, and jaw movement. The second model shows the bone grafts inserted to correct the condition. The models were created by oral surgeon Dr Desmond Greer Walker (1911-87).
