Glass flask, avoid with spout near base, painted with a crown and pomegranate, Spanish, 17th or 18th century
Glass flask, ovoid with spout near base, painted with a crown and pomegranate, Spanish, 17th or 18th century. During the eighteenth century glass-making in Spain fell into two classes. On the one hand the glass centres in Andalusia and Castile produced indiosyncratic pieces unique to Spain, while glass for the court and upper classes was made at the royal glassworks of La Granja de Idefonso. Here goblets, bowls, bottles and flasks were produced.
