Shop round for quinine tincture

Clear glass shop round, with glass stopper and residue with words 'Tr: Quinae:' in black lettering on a gold three pointed shield, for tincture of quinine

Pharmacy bottles and glass have their contents named on the outside in abbreviated Latin. Tr: Quinae translates to tinctura quinae or tincture of quinine. Tinctures are alcohol based preparations in which plants and barks are soaked to infuse their properties throughout the liquid. Quinine is found in cinchona bark and had uses to support digestion, reduce fevers, and as a tonic for general wellbeing.
