Madras ambulance, 1:10 scale, flaps to all sides, bullock drawn with canvas swingletree, wooden, early 20th century, from R.A.M.C.

Pulled by bullocks, this 1:10 scale model represents an ambulance used by a hospital in Madras (now Chennai), south-east India. Protected by canvas flaps, there is room inside for two patients to sit on cane seats. The model was originally presented to the Royal Army Medical College Museum by a doctor who saw the ambulance in use.
