Glass invalid feeding cup, European, 1701-1890
Made from glass, this cup was used to feed liquid foods to patients who were unable to sit upright. This is a rare example of a glass feeding cup as few survive in such good condition. Unfortunately it has no markings to help up identify how it was made – it was probably blown into a mould. Feeding cups were used by the patient’s nurse or carer.
