A pottery figure of Shennong, the Divine Farmer, mythical founder of herbal Chinese Medicine. Thousands of years ago he reputedly tasted different herbs to find out if they had an effect on humans. In Traditional Chinese Medicine the taste of a plant gives clues about which part of the body it is good for.
