Silver gill medicine spoon cum scoop, with folding stem, in tooled leather case, possibly 18th century
This spoon, made of silver gilt and gold, is hinged at the handle, allowing it to be neatly folded up and stored in its own leather case.
The spoon is believed to have been used to measure out medicines. The handle of the spoon is hollow and may have been used as a scoop to measure out smaller quantities.
