Spatula with stiff wide oval blade and ovoid handle, by P. Wood, 50 Haymarket, London

Large spatulas like this example would have been used in the preparation of medical treatments and drugs. It would also have been used to spread mixtures used as plasters or for stirring ingredients while making treatments. The spatula measures 340 mm in length and has a large ornate wooden handle.
