Inhaler for use in the treatment of asthma, with nosepiece and instructions, in carton, by Rybar Laboratories Ltd., England

The inhaler, the bulbous plastic device on the right, treated asthma and other lung diseases by the process of inhalation. Its manufacturers referred to it as an ‘atomiser’. It produced a very fine spray. This was then inhaled via the face mask (A640093) placed over the nose and mouth. A640093 is on the left. The inhaler was made by British pharmaceutical manufacturer Rybar Laboratories Limited between 1941 and 1967. The directions for use state: ‘guaranteed 100% effective for the symptomatic relief of bronchospams.’ Bronchospasms are the narrowing of the bronchi in the lungs.
