Painting. [Harford Bridge] / [M Croft, 1880]. Oil on board, 30.5x48cm. Conservation specimen; Victorian, part cleaned, prepared for the Science Museum by the Courtauld Institute of Art in 1964 to illustrate chemical methods of conservation. Displayed in laboratory of Chemistry Gallery to 1999. Retained as conservation specimen. Signed lower right, [M] Croft. [landscape painter exhib 1867-1882?]. Titled on reverse: Harford Bridge near Ivybridge Devon. Dated on reverse [10] [8] [18]80. Depicts a reddish brick bridge with stone foundations over a stream in rich landscape.
