Sartorius balance bought in 1929, in Leipzig, by Sutton, with a glazed wooden case and a black metal (iron?) base, the metal panels were added to minimise effect of heat variation in surroundings. Has a telescope to improve the accuracy of the reading. The brass beam has cylindrical air dampers.
