Painted yellow metal container with 2 sections, containing 2 packets of hypodermic needles with mounts, for military use, German, 1914-1918
This yellow tin container suggests that these needles were once component parts of a large military medicine chest. Inside the container are two cardboard packets of steel hypodermic needles. When attached to syringes, they could have been used for a range of treatments, such as to administer anaesthetics, blood transfusions or saline injections. Made for the German Army, the needles were used during the First World War.
