Trocar, steel with ebony handle, with cannular for sheep, German silver, for sheep, English, 1870-1910. Instruments used for venting accumulated gas. The sharp point allows the hide to be pierced without any pre-incision. A cannula is left in place after insertion to allow the gas to escape.
