Air ventilated suit with inner suit, harness, helmet and spare helmet, as used in Royal Navy, made by Stores and Transport, from the Defence Clothing & Textiles Agency (see note)

The suit was designed for cooling engine room personnel when the ship's ventilation system is shut down, resulting in an ambient temperature +70C to 80C and 50% relative humidity, whilst performing a work rate of about 120kcal/hour for a one hour period. It is impermeable to oil and resistant to momentary contact with hot metals in the region of 150C.
