Cardboard box containing pipettes and graduated tubes by Hawksley, London, with National Physical Laboratory reports dated 1943

The paperwork accompanying the glass pipettes and measuring cylinders is from the National Physical Laboratory (NPL). The UK’s NPL is where standards of measurements are set and accurately tested. The pipettes and glassware were standardised by the NPL for a medical researcher at University College in 1943. Accurate equipment is important for scientific and medical research.
