Wooden toilet case, containing 19 implements, French, early 19th century

This wooden case contains nineteen instruments intended for use in personal hygiene, grooming and shaving. These include razors, a strop to sharpen the razors, a toothbrush, tweezers and a toothpick. The case also contains forks, spoons, corkscrews and a pen knife.

The documentation for this object states that Napoleon I (1769-1821), Emperor of France between 1804 and 1814, gave cases like this to the generals of his army.
