The steam syringe steriliser was originally designed in 1985 for use in the UNICEF and World Health Organisation's (WHO) Expanded Programme on Immunisation (EPI). Pressure cooker sterilisers for syringes do not need gas or electricity but use paraffin stoves instead. The steriliser is shown here with soloshot syringes.
