Silver medal, with representation of Jean-Servais Stas (1813-1891). Jubilee Souvenir 5 May 1891. 50mm diameter, with halfcase 56mm diameter. Engraved by Alphonse Michaux after portrait by Leopold Weiner (1823-1891). Obverse, head representation of Jean-Servais Stas, left-facing in profile, signed. Reverse, Academie Royale des Lettres et des Beaux-Arts de Belgique; exergue inscription to Stas, born Louvain 21 Aout 1813, member of science class in 1841, Souvenir Jubilaire (5 Mai 1891). Case label: R. Michaux et Fils Graveurs 23 Rue du Beguinage Bruxelles [Belgium]. A.MICHAUX D'APRES L.W. Reverse, inscription. Only half of case present.
