Silver medal 4.5cm diameter, hallmarked along rim, commemorating the first landing of North Sea Oil in the UK (Argyll Field), June 1975. Danbury Mint Ltd. London., 1975. In blue presentation box 17x11x4cm, complete with clear perspex phial 6.3x3x3cm of North Sea Oil and certificate of Authenticity. Obverse: Oil rig, legend North Sea Oil 1975. reverse legend: In commemoration of Britain's first North Sea Oil ashore. Landed on June 18 1975 by the Hamilton Brothers consortium from the Argyll field. situated at 56 [degrees] 10' N by 02 [degrees] 46' E
