Obverse Figure of Mercury standing on a pedestal with a shield annotated ‘Die sinkr’, and ‘Provincial coins & medals & engraver’. Reverse A coining press, with weighted handles and leather slings: ‘Lutwyches manufactory Birmingham’. Notes Lutwyche was one of the prominent manufacturers of tokens in the late 18th century. The designs on this farthing size token are well executed.
