Obverse Ship lying to at a coal staithe, BEWICKE MAIN COLLIERY * 1811 *. Reverse: Legend in centre and round edge ONE PENNY PAYABLE AT NEWCASTLE ON TYNE AND LONDON. Note: Bewicke Main colliery was located at Birtley near Kibblesworth, Durham. Diagonally milled edge. Davis Northumberland 16, Withers 885. Diameter 33 mm.
