Joseph Priestley commemorative medal, issued 1794? or with added 1804 . Medal in white metal, 54mm diameter, 4mm deep. Phipson fecit. obverse, profile to R. Issued to commemorate Priestley's emigration to America after the sacking of his house by the mob. reverse adds dates of birth and death in exergue, border inscription Magnus Christianus Philosophus. (ex-Gabb, NMM, V.72)
