Mercurial developing box of the type described by Daguerre in 1839. Sliding sides, side windows, with red glass front window for watching development. Thermometer missing. Mercury vessel of white pottery ware marked "V.L. Bayeux". Box with folding legs iron vessel for holding thermometer complete. Ivory label on thermometer marked 'Foster Lane, London'.
