Eclipse collapsible bellows camera Patent No. 4102. for single dry plates, negative size 3 1/4 x 4 1/4. Lens panel supported by two wooden braces. Fitted with a Taylor T Hobson Rapid Rectilienear lens, approx F.8 4 1/2" lens with rotary between the shutter T and instantaneous. Of fixed speeds, cocked by rotating the shutter blade with release on lens barrel. Fitted in a helical mount. J F Shew c.1890

Metal label bears inscription recording presentation of the camera to Mr Robert Findlay by the drawing office staff at the Leven Shipyard, Dumbarton, in 1893.
