Ampoules, 6, of progesterone in original carton, by Organon Laboratories Ltd., Brettenham House, London, WC2, England, 1960-1970.

Progesterone is a naturally occurring hormone produced by the body. Progesterone and oestrogen are vital for reproduction. These six ampoules of progesterone are shown in their original carton. Hormones regulate many functions of the body including growth and reproduction. Sex hormones, such as progesterone, are used medically to compensate for low levels of the natural hormone. They prevent pregnancy or promote growth. They are extracted from animals or manufactured synthetically. The ampoules were made by Organon Laboratories Limited in London.
