Rectangular brown glass bottle, with rounded shoulders, short slightly flared neck, rounded edged rim, flat-topped glass stopper, for liquified phenol, three quarters full of reddish-brown liquid, from medicine chest A656265, German, 1914-1918. Painted inscription on shoulders reads 'Acid.carbol.liquef.' Object marked on the back with '131g'. Inventory card notes provenance as the German Army.
